Full-service independent agency The Sanford Partnership has created a new global campaign for Suzuki Swift after winning a competitive pitch for the work.
The  new campaign sees some Melbourne laneway street art come to life to chase the vehicle around the city, before turning into a real man.

D Graeme Stanford said: “We have a really strong relationship with Suzuki Australia and now to again be awarded this global responsibility by Suzuki Japan, is extremely gratifying”.
The campaign includes 45, 30 and 15 second TV spots which are supported by magazines, online, outdoor and point-of-sale.
It launched during Suzuki’s sponsorship of Channel 9’s The Block: Glasshouse.

Suzuki chooses responsive design for new emag

8 July, 2013

Suzuki has launched a new emagazine Way of Life in hand with custom publishing house Edge, using responsive design. The design format aims to cater to the ever expanding market of tablets and smartphones by rearranging content according to the device being used, countering the need to build different sites for Android, Apple, desktop and mobile.

Edge’s head of strategy, Richard Parker says the focus shouldn’t be on trying to scale a website into every possible screen size available.

“Instead, we should be starting to think about content and the environments in which it will be consumed and the context in which it will be consumed in, then from this, create the right web properties to meet these needs.”

Some perceive responsive design to be having a few teething problems. Websites built with responsive design can experience delayed loading of images and content, and issues with the formatting of advertisements.  And being relatively new technology, it can be quite an expensive option. However, Parker says the supposed slow load time comes only when compared to native apps, or when a site is primarily image-based.

“The uptake of 4G for mobile networks will greatly improve this as will the NBN with its high speed broadband.”

Suzuki has been one of the first automotives to choose responsive design with the guidance of Edge for Way of Life. The online publication covers vehicle launches, promotions, travel stories and news about the brand, and is sent to more than 100,000 Suzuki fans across multiple devices.

“Responsive design works well for the [Suzuki] site because its architecture and functionality is quite simple and streamlined. If it were a more detailed site and had utility or e-commerce components this would make responsive quite difficult to achieve,” says Parker.

Edge’s director Fergus Stoddart said the company recognised Suzuki’s audience used multiple devices and a multi-screen solution was required. “A responsive design, while maybe costing a little more, will ensure the entire Suzuki customer database has access to the new e-magazine,” Stoddart said.

Suzuki Australia’s national communications manager, Andrew Ellis said, “Until now, Suzuki didn’t have a way of regularly communicating with our customers, other than through our annual print magazine. This new online channel will provide a digital touch point to our growing customer base, as well as our dealer network.”

“Once again, the team at Edge has made the promotion of Suzuki into the digital realm a seamless one,” Ellis added.

Real men go for Dr Peppers (or Suzuki SX4s)

The Maruti Suzuki SX4 is known for it's distinct positioning as a car for the 'man' in every gentleman by the virtue of being an unbeatable combination of power, performance and luxury.

Lowe Lintas & Partners Mumbai's task was to further strengthen this positioning and launch the all new version of the SX4 which is equipped with the Super Turbo Diesel engine and a host of new features. The objective was also to reinforce the performance credentials of the SX4.
Suzuki2.jpgThe new campaign is based on the proposition that SX4 is the car for men who are passionate about driving. It is based on the insight that almost every boy grows up playing with cars. They always dream of driving their cars really fast and aggressively. The TVC establishes that SX4 is a car that lets you live your passion for driving. It can be put be any test and lets you drive it the way you had always dreamt of driving a car. The TVC depicts a young boy's passion for speed and thrill of driving a car which is eventually fulfilled when he gets to drive the all new SX4.

Sanjeev Handa, General Manager, Marketing, MSIL, said, "The new SX4, has attractive new exterior looks, plush interiors, and exciting features like the touch screen audio cum navigation system and power folding ORVM's. It comes with power packed performance and a Super Turbo Diesel engine. The latest TVC demonstrates our absolute commitment towards our positioning, which has let us stand distinctly apart in the segment. The production quality adds sheen to our statement and puts the TVC in a league of its own."

New Zealand New Vehicle Sales Improve

Published in Voxy on 6 November, 2012.

New vehicles sales figures continue to improve, with the combined passenger and commercial markets reaching the second-highest number of sales for the year.

Motor Trade Association (MTA) said the total number of new vehicles sold increased for the second month in a row, with 9,388 new units sold overall - up 698 (8 percent) on the September figure.

This is a solid 34 percent increase on the 7,026 new vehicles sold in October 2011. Year to date, total new vehicle sales are up 19 percent - certainly a positive economic signal.

MTA spokesperson Ian Stronach said: "October is often a strong month sales wise, with many of the new season’s rental fleet being included. Toyota, in particular, had a strong month, leading both the commercial and passenger sales figures."

New car sales, of 7,336 units, increased by 699 units (11 percent), compared to the same month last year. Year to date, new car sales are ahead of 2011 by 11,236 units (21 percent).

The new commercial vehicle market held steady, at 2,052 - down a single vehicle from last month’s 2,053. However, this was a strong improvement over last year, with 454 more units sold (28 percent) compared to October 2011. Year to date, overall new commercial sales are ahead of 2011 by 2,391 units (13 percent) - another positive indicator of economic activity.

Top selling passenger car brands:
Toyota 1,862 units 25 percent market share
Ford 928 units 13 percent market share
Holden 720 units 10 percent market share

Top selling passenger car models:
Toyota Corolla 846 units
Ford Focus 344 units
Suzuki Swift 299 units

Top selling commercial vehicle brands:
Toyota 585 units 29 percent market share
Ford 261 units 13 percent market share
Nissan 227 units 11 percent market share

Top selling commercial vehicle models:
Toyota HiLux 334 units
Toyota Hiace 232 units
Nissan Navara 208 units

Used import car sales were up by 645 units (10 percent) compared to September, and up 600 (10 percent) compared to October last year. Year to date, sales of used imported cars are down by 2,377 units (4 percent).

On-road motorcycle sales also strongly improved last month, with the most new cycles sold for the year - 571 units, an increase of 19 percent over October 2011. In particular, sales of new over-60cc cycles rallied, with a 23 percent increase over last October’s figure of 365 units sold.

"This will be a welcome relief for motorcycle dealers - this is the best October result since 2009. There is a way to go though, with sales currently down 13 percent year to date, but this is a strong start to summer, traditionally the time of the year when people buy bikes," Stronach said.
